Galerie SCHLUH eröffnet im Juli 2023

Gallery SCHLUH opens in July 2023

by Markus Lippeck

As part of the open studios in Worpswede, from July 7th, 2023, we are opening the SCHLUH gallery.

In the well-known village street "IM SCHLUH" we show art on approx. 130 square meters in a separate annex to the house.
On the upper floor there are two studios owned by Anna Schill and Markus Lippeck. There is plenty of space for pictures and sculptures on the ground floor and in the basement.

If necessary, events and openings, the entire property is included, both the "midcentury" main house and the central property.
In the main building there is a foyer where events and house music take place regularly.

(pre-opening with home music from children as a presentation from their music lessons )

The gallery will pursue three parallel concepts:

- "Garage"
"The young wild". In cooperation with universities, students, initiatives and art associations. External, temporary events also outside of the Schluh premises.

- "Gallery"
Our regular artists with constantly changing solo exhibitions in the gallery.

- "Fine Art"
International art / art trade and mediation

Especially in our "Gallery" concept, we don't just want to open a new gallery, but rather create "social & cultural events" with ambience and identity.

This also includes the active participation of artists, collectors and curators.

The gallery will always be open, even when we are currently setting up or preparing events or exhibitions. The motto is “participate and experience!”

We want to offer collectors in particular a kind of “carte blanche” to present collections according to their ideas and give them an open stage.

On the property we combine the whole thing with a “kind of residence”.
Visitors, interested guests but also artists and curators have the opportunity to stay overnight and work directly in the studio or in the attached holiday apartment;

There will also be ongoing cooperation with the Kannart gallery , which focuses on art from Russia and Eastern Europe.

A permanent exhibition of a wide variety of exhibits as well as changing solo exhibitions from both the SCHLUH gallery and the KannArt gallery are planned.

A special focus will also be on sculptures and objects and in this context a sculpture garden is planned on the property behind the gallery.

Opening hours SA/SUN 1 p.m. - 6 p.m
as well as by appointment and on special days.
