Jürgen Mayer H: Confusion
Jürgen Mayer H. (*1965 in Stuttgart) combines architecture, product design, graphics and art in his work. Numbers and data encrypted into patterns are a recurring component of his architecture, drawings and objects. He is particularly interested in data security and multiple forms that banks use in letters to their customers to encrypt their secret codes. The data security patterns guarantee that the message remains unrecognizable until it reaches the correct recipient. Research led Jürgen Mayer H. to the oldest sources of these forms in 1913, and in recent years a collection of around 400 different patterns has been created. The large-format publication presents 100 different sheets from this collection, which serve as the basis for many of his buildings, drawings, sculptures and design objects.
